About Tai Amy Grauman

Tai Amy Grauman (MFA) is Metis from Ardrossan Alberta. She is a Callihoo and Beauregard from St. Paul from her paternal lineage and a Turner from Cutknife Saskatchewan from her maternal lineage. Tai is a writer, actor, director and producer. Her play You used to call me Marie… has toured Metis communities across Alberta and Saskatchewan while also premiering at the Cultch and the National Arts Centre. Her play for young audiences Where have all the buffalo gone? is in its second year of touring around Canada and has been nominated for several Jessie Richardson Theatre awards for the 2024/2025 season. Tai’s most recent play Rose and James: A Metis Scottish love story just finished a public presentation at Metis Crossing and will be travelling to Scotland for another public presentation this upcoming February at Dogstar Theatre in Inverness. Another one of her recent plays Wiwimaw will also have a workshop and public presentation at Metis Crossing this upcoming December. Tai has also been involved in over 20 theatre productions across the country as an actor and has assistant directed many projects that centre new Indigenous work in Canadian Theatre. She has also emceed and facilitated many conferences and forums that centre Metis culture, history, language, health and wellbeing. From September 2023 until May 2025, Tai served as the elected Provincial Women’s Representative for the Otipemisiwak Metis Government within Alberta as well as the Secretary of Advancement of Women and Girls.
